Medical clinics to care for U.S. Veterans living in Arkansas

PRINCETON, IN – Onsite Occupational Health and Safety, Inc. (Onsite OHS), today announced it has been awarded a joint contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center to operate two separate medical clinics for Veterans living in Arkansas.

The Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), located in Helena, Ark., and Jonesboro, Ark., will each provide primary care, mental health care, women’s healthcare and preventive health services to Veterans.

“Onsite OHS is honored to partner with the Memphis VA to offer high quality, personalized healthcare services to Veterans,” said Kyle G. Johnson, President & Chief Executive Officer of Onsite OHS. “As a Veteran myself, I look forward to providing clinical care to those who have sacrificed so much and honorably served our country.”

The Veterans Health Administration provides healthcare for Veterans across the country through the use of CBOCs, which are healthcare sites designed to focus on the primary care needs of Veterans. Contracts for operation of CBOCs are competitively bid every five years to ensure that Veteran patients are receiving the best possible care from the most capable providers.

“We look forward to many years of continued high quality care at the Helena and Jonesboro locations with our new contractor, Onsite OHS. These clinics represent the continued achievement of our goal of improving access to healthcare by providing continuous high quality care closer to where Veterans live,” said William H. Mills, Interim Director and CEO of the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

This is the fourth CBOC contract awarded by the VA to Onsite OHS. The company operates CBOCs in Dover, Tenn., Massena, N.Y., and Tupelo, Miss.

The Helena CBOC began seeing patients on Jan. 1, 2016; the Jonesboro CBOC began seeing patients April 1, 2016.

A ribbon cutting with VA representatives was slated for Wednesday, April 27, for Helena, and Friday, April 29, for Jonesboro, respectively.
